About the Client
They focus on projects between $50m to $100m across ground up and large scale renovations and additions within the Commercial, Federal and Education sectors.
The succesfull Estimator will need to have a minimum of five years experience.
About the Role

Collaborate with senior leadership to coordinate subcontractor bid lists for budgeting and bidding phases.

Oversee the distribution of current design documents to subcontractors and ensure timely, comprehensive bid responses.

Review design documents, compile questions, and request additional information to ensure a complete and accurate estimate.

Verify that all approved design revisions are properly incorporated into the latest construction documents.

Attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs with subcontractors.

Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and identify any scope not captured in design documents.

Perform detailed quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and trade-specific estimates for all assigned scopes and systems.

Provide pricing for value engineering options and project alternatives as needed.

Create subcontractor comparison/leveling sheets per trade; evaluate scope coverage, identify gaps or overlaps.

Participate in internal estimate review meetings and contribute to the development of accurate, competitive estimates.

Coordinate closely with Operations to incorporate logistics and general conditions into the estimating process.

Lead or support the preparation of comprehensive bid packages and final estimate submissions.

Engage in meetings with architects, engineers, and clients to present and revise estimates based on feedback.

Mentor and manage junior estimators, including performance evaluations and professional development.

Foster strong working relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.

Analyze historical cost data, unit pricing, and general requirements to improve future estimating accuracy.

Contribute to constructability reviews and ensure collaboration with Operations to deliver timely, practical input.
About the Candidate
-
A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or a related field is preferred. At least eight years of experience with a solid understanding of building materials, systems, trade practices, and market dynamics.

Ability to grasp project requirements quickly, even with limited information, and translate them into workable solutions.

Brings a creative, clear, and results-oriented mindset to every project.

Familiarity with cross-functional processes across departments such as Procurement, Cost Control, and Accounting.

Strong leadership, communication, and writing skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with technology.

Deep understanding of estimating documents with the ability to perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis accurately.

Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
