A leading commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced VDC Manager to join its Virtual Construction Department. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing VDC/BIM strategy and coordination across multiple projects, working closely with project teams, architects, engineers, trade partners, and clients.

The VDC Manager will play a critical role from preconstruction through completion, utilizing BIM and VDC technologies to solve complex design and construction challenges, improve project coordination, and increase the efficiency and quality of project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage VDC/BIM processes across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans and project-specific coordination schedules.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings with project teams, architects, engineers, trade partners, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee clash detection and clash avoidance using Navisworks and other VDC platforms.
• Review and coordinate design documents, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings from a VDC perspective.
• Support project teams throughout preconstruction, procurement, and construction phases.
• Develop and maintain Revit content and models to support project coordination.
• Establish and improve VDC standards, processes, and best practices across the organization.
• Train and mentor project staff in BIM/VDC technologies and workflows.
• Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency through technology, visualization, prefabrication, and digital construction processes.
• Work closely with project leadership to identify and resolve coordination issues with urgency.
• Maintain accurate records of VDC activities and lessons learned to support continuous process improvement.
• Support the development of VDC case studies and project portfolios for business development and marketing purposes.
• Stay current with emerging VDC/BIM technologies and identify opportunities for implementation.
• Travel to project sites as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in VDC/BIM within commercial construction, architecture, engineering, or a related environment.
• Previous experience leading BIM/VDC coordination on multiple projects.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Civil 3D.
• Experience with VDC software such as Lumion, 3ds Max, Enscape, Synchro, and Bluebeam.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, contract documents, MEP coordination, and project delivery.
• Experience with project scheduling and scheduling software.
• Proven ability to lead coordination meetings and work effectively with project stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and resolve issues with a sense of urgency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
