About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious individual to join a dynamic and growing fit-out contractor as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about construction, eager to learn, and looking to develop a long-term career in commercial management.

You will work closely with a team of experienced Quantity Surveyors, supporting the commercial delivery of high-quality interior fit-out projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, hospitality, and retail.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, tender documents, and contract valuations

• Support the monitoring and control of project costs, budgets, and financial reporting

• Help prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and variation documentation

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients as part of the project team

• Maintain accurate records and assist in project administration

• Gain exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle from pre-contract to final handover

• Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality standards

Candidate Requirements

• A genuine interest in construction and commercial management

• Currently studying (or recently completed) a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field

• Strong numeracy, analytical, and communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)

• Ability to work as part of a team and independently

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude

• Previous experience (placement or work-based) in a construction or commercial environment

• Full UK driving licence
