About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a driven and detail-oriented individual to join a leading specialist subcontractor as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. This role offers hands-on experience working on large-scale construction projects, with a focus on façade, drylining, and external envelope packages.

You’ll be part of a commercial team that delivers innovative and technically complex solutions across major residential, commercial, and infrastructure schemes throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of cost plans, tenders, and contract valuations

• Support the monitoring and control of budgets, variations, and change management

• Help in preparing payment applications and final accounts

• Liaise with site teams, project managers, and clients to support commercial delivery

• Contribute to procurement processes including subcontractor enquiries and comparisons

• Maintain commercial records and support monthly reporting

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality procedures on all commercial outputs

Candidate Requirements

• Interest in construction and commercial management, particularly in specialist subcontracting

• Studying towards (or recently completed) a Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related qualification

• Good numerical and analytical skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

• Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Organised, motivated, and eager to learn

• Work experience (placement or part-time) in a construction or subcontractor environment

• Awareness of the façade and drylining sector

• Full UK driving licence
