About the Client

We are representing a rapidly expanding, technology-driven electrical contractor delivering complex, high-stakes power and lighting solutions across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical sectors.

From state-of-the-art data centers and industrial automation facilities to high-rise commercial spaces, they take pride in precision, innovation, and reliability.

As they continue their explosive growth, they are looking for a Senior Electrical Estimator to play a pivotal role in their preconstruction team driving bid strategy, leading high-value estimates, and helping secure their next generation of landmark projects.

About the Role

  • Lead the takeoff and pricing process for major projects ranging from $1M to $30M+ across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments.

  • Perform detailed material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quantity takeoffs using estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, or ConEst).

  • Analyze design-build, design-assist, and conceptual drawings/specifications to produce detailed, accurate budget estimates at various stages of design.

  • Identify high-risk scope areas, value-engineering opportunities, and constructability challenges early in the bidding process.

  • Estimate complex MV/LV distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, paralleling switchgear, PDU/RPP units, instrumentation, and busway installations.

  • Commercial: Estimate core-and-shell power, tenant fit-outs, advanced lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and emergency power systems.

  • Evaluate labor factors, site logistics, shift differentials, and overtime impacts specific to high-density or fast-track project schedules.

  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes (gear, lighting, low-voltage, specialized equipment) for completeness, scope accuracy, and competitive pricing.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key electrical equipment vendors, manufacturers, and specialty subcontractors.

  • Participate in pre-bid walk-throughs, scope review meetings with General Contractors/Owners, and internal bid reviews with executive leadership.

  • Lead the project handoff/turnover process upon bid award, transferring detailed estimate budgets, scope write-ups, and risk assessments to the Project Management and Operations teams.

  • Assist in historical cost tracking to refine labor units and pricing databases for future bids.

About the Candidate

  • Experience: 7+ years of electrical estimating experience with a commercial/industrial electrical contractor. Demonstrated track record estimating complex mission-critical (data center) or heavy industrial projects is strongly preferred.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local electrical codes, single-line diagrams, short-circuit requirements, and complex power distribution layouts.

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skill with electrical estimating software (Accubid Classic/Anywhere, McCormick, ConEst, or similar) and digital takeoff tools (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.).

  • Education / Field Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience; Journeyman/Master Electrician license is a strong plus.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and clear communication under tight bid-day deadlines.
