Senior Estimator – Commercial Drywall & Interior Systems

Montgomery, NY

A well-established commercial drywall and interior systems contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing preconstruction team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated estimator who enjoys leading complex bids, mentoring junior team members and playing a key role in securing high-value commercial projects. You'll work on a diverse portfolio including hospitality, multifamily, retail, healthcare and commercial developments. The company has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, long-term client relationships and continued growth throughout the Northeast.

The Role

• Lead the estimating process from initial enquiry through to final bid submission.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs for drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings and interior finishes.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Prepare budgets, conceptual estimates and competitive tenders.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure a seamless handover of awarded projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, General Contractors and vendors.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the continued development of the estimating department.

Requirements

• 5+ years' estimating experience within commercial drywall, metal framing, ceilings or interior construction.
• Proven experience pricing commercial projects from preconstruction through bid submission.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and bid documentation.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, Bluebeam, Procore or similar platforms.
• Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders while meeting strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
