Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Roofing Procurement Manager to join our team in Chester. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of all roofing materials, equipment, and services necessary for our commercial roofing projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the timely delivery of high-quality materials, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery performance.
• Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and subcontractors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to secure the best possible value.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for all roofing materials, including but not limited to, membranes, insulation, metalwork, and fasteners.
• Monitor inventory levels, manage stock control, and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites to avoid delays.
• Track market trends, analyse price fluctuations, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure procurement activities align with project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure that all materials and services procured meet the company's quality standards and project specifications.
• Prepare, review, and manage contracts and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier reliability, price volatility, and material shortages.
• Monitor supplier performance, track key metrics, and conduct regular reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
•  Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Procurement Manager, preferably within the roofing or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of roofing materials, systems, and industry best practices.
• Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex procurement projects and deliver results within budget and schedule.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
• MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent qualification is desirable.
