As a Senior Rainscreen Cladding Estimator, you’ll be a key contributor to securing high-profile exterior façade work, enhancing the company’s competitive position in the construction market while helping shape project success from pre-construction through delivery.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Rainscreen Cladding Estimator to lead estimating efforts for exterior rainscreen façade systems and related building envelope work. This role will support the commercial team by producing competitive, accurate estimates that position the company for success in bid pursuits while ensuring cost integrity, constructability, and alignment with project goals.
 
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for rainscreen cladding systems, including exterior cladding panels, sub-framing, fasteners, accessories, and related building envelope components.

  • Analyze architectural and specification documents, drawings, and tender packages to develop comprehensive quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.

  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and technical input for materials and labor.

  • Work closely with pre-construction, design, and operations teams to ensure constructability, sequencing, scheduling, and logistics considerations are reflected in estimates.

  • Identify and quantify risks, assumptions, exclusions, and scope gaps to ensure commercially sound proposals.

  • Prepare and organize formal bid proposals, including cost summaries, clarifications, value engineering options, and support documentation.

  • Maintain estimating databases, unit pricing libraries, and historical cost information for rainscreen and façade systems.

  • Participate in bid strategy discussions, attend pre-bid meetings, and respond to RFI clarifications as required.

  • Mentor and support more junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating practices and workflows.

About the Candidate

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years estimating experience, with a strong focus on rainscreen cladding, façade systems, and building envelope packages(or closely related exterior systems).

  • Proficient in reading and quantifying architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Skilled in material take-offs, cost buildup, and preparation of detailed proposals.

  • Strong industry relationships with suppliers, fabricators, and subcontractors for façade and rainscreen products.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.

  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent bids with tight deadlines and presenting cost recommendations to leadership.

  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Excel) and construction project documentation tools.

     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience estimating a variety of façade materials such as aluminum composite panels, metal panels, terracotta, high-pressure laminate, rainscreen support systems, and air/vapor barriers.

  • Knowledge of local market conditions in the Mid-Atlantic and commercial construction trends.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to contribute to bid/no-bid decisions and value engineering proposals.
