The Quality Control Manager will manage the project’s quality-control programme in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requirements.
This is a site-based position responsible for inspecting work completed by subcontractors, maintaining quality documentation and ensuring that construction activities comply with the plans, specifications and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and managing the project-specific Quality Control Plan.
- Performing duties required under the USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors programme.
- Managing the three-phase control process: preparatory, initial and follow-up phases.
- Inspecting work installed by subcontractors and documenting quality observations.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, submittals and approved materials.
- Identifying deficiencies and coordinating corrective actions with the project team.
- Preparing and maintaining daily QC reports, inspection records and supporting documentation.
- Attending progress, coordination and quality-control meetings.
- Coordinating with the Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors and client representatives.
- Supporting testing, inspections, commissioning and project closeout activities.
- Ensuring all work meets the required quality, safety and federal project standards.
The role does not involve operating machinery, using power tools or performing trade work. The successful individual may need to inspect installed work at height, subject to the appropriate site controls and fall-protection procedures.
