Overview
A well-established, union-affiliated commercial drywall contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team in Springfield, MA.

This is a permanent role managing large-scale commercial drywall projects ranging from $1M–$25M, with responsibility for full project lifecycle delivery from preconstruction through closeout.

The company is a respected name in the Northeast construction market, known for delivering complex interior systems on time, maintaining strong GC relationships, and operating with a high level of professionalism and structure. They have a long-standing reputation for “doing things the right way” and maintaining steady, repeat business across key clients.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commercial drywall and interiors projects from start to finish
  • Oversee project budgets, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, and general contractors
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement processes
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestone delivery
  • Ensure compliance with union labor requirements and agreements
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear client communication

About the Candidate

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction
  • Strong background in drywall, metal framing, and interior systems (Division 9 preferred)
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial projects ($1M–$25M range)
  • Strong understanding of union construction environments
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project teams
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, education, or large commercial projects
  • Prior work with specialty drywall or interiors contractors
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar project management software
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in Northeast construction markets
