About the Client

My client are a healthcare construction specialist and one of the most succesfull in South Florida.
 

Due to substantial project wins they are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager with Healthcare experience out of their office in Miami.

About the Role

Project Planning and Initiation:

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and requirements. 

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Participate in the pre-construction phase, including constructability reviews and value engineering.

  • Establish clear lines of communication and responsibility among project team members.

Project Execution and Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of the construction process from groundbreaking to closeout.

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Monitor project progress against the schedule and budget, identifying and addressing potential delays or cost overruns.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, healthcare regulations (e.g., AHCA in Florida), and safety standards (OSHA).

  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure adherence to project specifications.

  • Manage change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals effectively.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.

  • Facilitate project meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress, address issues, and ensure effective communication.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the project budget, track expenses, and approve invoices.

  • Develop and maintain accurate project financial reports.

  • Implement cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.

  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers as needed.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.  

  • Proactively communicate project updates, potential issues, and solutions to clients.

  • Address client concerns and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Implement and monitor risk management plans throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Proactively address and resolve project issues and conflicts.

Safety Management:

  • Champion a strong safety culture on all project sites.

  • Ensure that all contractors and personnel adhere to safety regulations and company safety policies.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.

  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents.

Project Closeout:

  • Manage the project closeout process, including punch lists, final inspections, and commissioning.

  • Ensure all project documentation is complete and submitted.

  • Facilitate the handover of the completed project to the client.

  • Obtain client sign-off and final payment.

About the Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.  

  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a significant focus on healthcare facility construction (e.g., hospitals, clinics, medical office buildings).

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex healthcare construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility requirements, codes, standards, and regulatory processes in Florida.

  • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera).

  • Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with construction contracts and construction delivery strategies.

  • OSHA certification and/or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

  • Must be able to travel to project sites throughout the Miami area.
