Overview
A well-established, union-affiliated commercial drywall contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support projects in the Syracuse, NY region.

This is a permanent role overseeing commercial drywall and interior systems projects across a range of sectors including healthcare, education, and general commercial construction. The contractor has a strong reputation in the Northeast for delivering complex interior packages ranging from mid-size to large-scale commercial builds.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial drywall and interiors projects from preconstruction through completion
• Oversee budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, and general contractors
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement activities
• Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure timely delivery of milestones
• Ensure compliance with union labor requirements and project agreements
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality
• Maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction
• Strong background in drywall, metal framing, and interior systems (Division 9 preferred)
• Experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish
• Strong understanding of union construction environments
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple project stakeholders
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on healthcare, education, or large commercial projects
• Background with specialty drywall or interiors contractors
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar project management tools
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Experience working in Northeast construction markets
