About the Role

The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for leading complex construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required standards of quality and performance.
 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
  • Lead project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Manage and supervise project teams, including Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents.
  • Ensure projects comply with specifications, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Review and approve subcontractor bids, change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation.
  • Conduct regular site visits, safety inspections, and project meetings.
  • Prepare detailed project reporting, financial forecasting, and performance updates for senior leadership.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal development and client engagement, when required.
  • Drive effective communication and collaboration across internal and external project teams.
  • Take ownership of project outcomes from initial planning through final closeout.

Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, and controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced construction Project Manager with a strong track record of independently managing mid- to large-scale projects from pre-construction through completion.

You will be a confident leader and effective communicator, capable of coordinating multiple stakeholders while maintaining control of project schedules, budgets, quality, safety, and contractual requirements. You will be highly organised, proactive, commercially aware, and comfortable identifying potential risks and developing practical solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 3–5+ years of construction project management experience, with demonstrated experience managing projects independently.
  • A proven track record of delivering mid- to large-scale construction projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project documentation, processes, and technology.
  • Experience with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or Primavera.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage conflict effectively and build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • A self-starting, highly motivated approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Construction industry experience, preferably within HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or related building services environments.
  • A high school diploma; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
  • 10+ years of overall professional experience is preferred.
