About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Contracts Manager to join our client's team. This role will support the Contracts Management function, assisting in the administration and management of contracts for a variety of exciting and high-profile projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring contractual compliance, managing risk, and supporting the smooth delivery of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within contracts management in a growing and environmentally conscious organisation.
  • Assist in the review, drafting, and negotiation of various contracts, including subcontracts, supplier agreements, and client contracts.
  • Support the Senior Contracts Manager in ensuring all contractual obligations are met and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain and organise contract documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist in the identification and management of contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor project progress against contractual milestones and report any potential issues or delays.
  • Support the administration of change orders and variations to contracts.
  • Assist in the resolution of contractual disputes and claims, working closely with the project team and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including project managers, commercial teams, and site teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of contract management processes and templates.
  • Provide support in the preparation of contractual reports and documentation.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Senior Contracts Manager or Contracts Director.

 

About the Candidate

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • A genuine interest in contract management and the construction industry, ideally with some exposure to or understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
