About the Role
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of advanced commercial HVAC systems. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with cutting-edge HVAC technology, and providing exceptional service to commercial customers.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive commercial HVAC service experience, advanced diagnostic abilities, strong customer communication skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including advanced variable refrigerant flow (VRF) equipment and associated controls
- Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, system startups, commissioning support, and performance optimization
- Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues on commercial HVAC systems
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment performance, repair recommendations, and service solutions
- Complete work orders, service reports, parts requests, and related documentation accurately and on time
- Coordinate service schedules, equipment procurement, and job planning to maximize efficiency
- Support complex system retrofits, equipment upgrades, and remediation projects
- Mentor and assist junior technicians while promoting technical development and best practices
- Collaborate with service management and field teams to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company safety standards
About the Candidate
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Strong understanding of commercial refrigeration systems, HVAC diagnostics, controls, and mechanical equipment
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on complex commercial HVAC systems
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational abilities
- EPA 608 Universal Certification
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives
Preferred:
- Experience servicing VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, or advanced HVAC control platforms
- Factory training or manufacturer certifications on commercial HVAC equipment
- Experience supporting commercial office, healthcare, education, industrial, or institutional facilities
- Leadership experience mentoring or training junior technicians
