A well-established commercial mechanical and HVAC contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join its team in Tampa, Florida. The organization delivers complex HVAC and mechanical projects for commercial and industrial clients and is known for its focus on quality, safety, technical expertise, and successful project delivery.

The company handles projects ranging from smaller service and construction work through to large-scale mechanical installations valued at several million dollars.

As an HVAC Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from initial planning through successful completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the overall delivery of HVAC and mechanical construction projects.
• Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and milestones.
• Coordinating with customers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Reviewing project plans, specifications, drawings, and contracts.
• Managing procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontractor services.
• Monitoring project costs, profitability, change orders, and financial performance.
• Identifying and resolving project issues before they impact schedule or budget.
• Conducting regular project and jobsite meetings.
• Supporting field teams and ensuring work is progressing according to plans and specifications.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Ensuring projects meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Managing customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Overseeing project closeout, commissioning, documentation, and final completion.

HVAC Systems & Technical Scope

The role requires a strong understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems, including:

• Chilled water systems
• DX systems
• Boilers
• Pumps
• Air handling units
• HVAC controls
• Mechanical piping
• Ductwork
• Commercial HVAC equipment and installations

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HVAC or mechanical construction professional with strong project management experience and a solid understanding of commercial HVAC systems.

You should have:

• 5+ years of experience in HVAC service, mechanical construction, project management, estimating, or field supervision.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical construction.
• Experience managing projects valued up to approximately $4 million.
• A strong understanding of project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• The ability to communicate effectively with customers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• The ability and willingness to travel regularly to jobsites and customer facilities.
• Experience with project management software and standard construction documentation.
