• My client is a non-union/open shop, state licensed, bonded and insured, Fire Sprinkler and Certified Alarm System Contractor.
• They have been doing business for over 35 years throughout Florida.
• They provide layout services, fabrication, installation, ongoing maintenance and inspections of fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
• Their goal is to provide other clients with the very best service and most competitive pricing available.

## Core Responsibilities

The day-to-day is a blend of field diagnostics and regulatory compliance.

• Testing & Inspection:  Conduct functional testing of fire alarm components, including smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, and notification appliances (horns/strobes).

• System Diagnostics:  Use multimeters and specialized tools to troubleshoot ground faults, short circuits, and communication errors within the fire alarm control panel (FACP).

• Regulatory Compliance:  Ensure all systems meet  NFPA 72  (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code) standards, as well as state and local building codes.

• Documentation:  Complete detailed inspection reports via digital platforms (like BuildingReports or ServiceTrade). These are legal documents used by Fire Marshals and insurance companies.

• Customer Interaction:  Walk building owners through system deficiencies and explain necessary repairs without causing unnecessary panic.

## Technical Requirements & Skills

Most employers look for a specific "toolkit" of certifications and knowledge:

• NICET Level 1  in Fire Alarm Systems, or at least the ability to obtain it within 6–12 months.

• Electrical Knowledge:  A solid grasp of low-voltage electricity. You should understand Ohm’s Law and how to read circuit diagrams.

• Equipment Proficiency:  Experience with major brands like  Notifier, Simplex, EST, or Silent Knight.

• Physical Agility:  You’ll be on ladders, in crawl spaces, and on your feet for 8+ hours

• Personable, customer facing person is required
• Good knowledge of Codes and NFPA practices is required.
• A clear understanding of Fire compliance
• Good Panel knowledge, such as Notifier, Honeywell, Potter etc.
• Flexible attitude and also a team player is needed for this role.
• Clean licence and be able to provide background checks and drugs screening.
