About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Manager to lead and grow our commercial electrical service division. This role is responsible for overseeing daily service operations, managing technicians, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving profitability while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial electrical service, leadership experience, and the ability to build long-term client relationships while developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the electrical service department.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of service electricians and field supervisors.
  • Schedule and dispatch technicians to maximize productivity and response times.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, service calls, troubleshooting, repairs, and small project work.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities to expand service agreements.
  • Prepare estimates and proposals for service work and small commercial projects.
  • Monitor department KPIs including revenue, gross profit, technician utilization, callback rates, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage department budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new service technicians as the department grows.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimating, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct regular technician performance reviews and provide coaching and training.
  • Ensure service vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained and compliant.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial electrical service operations.
  • Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multiple technicians.
  • Experience with dispatching and scheduling service work.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and service management software (ServiceTitan, BuildOps, ServiceTrade, or similar).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing service agreements and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Background working with commercial facilities, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, and office buildings.
  • Experience developing technicians through coaching and apprenticeship programs.
  • Strong business development and account management skills.
  • Experience managing departmental P&L and forecasting.
