A construction-focused organization specializing in electrical projects is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support preconstruction activities. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates by analyzing project documentation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring proposals reflect complete scope coverage, pricing accuracy, and scheduling considerations.

The Estimator is responsible for delivering complete and accurate project estimates from initial RFP/ITB through final proposal submission. This includes performing full material and labor takeoffs, reviewing contract documents, and ensuring full scope understanding before submission to preconstruction leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing detailed electrical estimates using estimating software
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents to define full project scope
• Producing and verifying complete material and labor takeoffs
• Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, reps, and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate pricing and coverage
• Monitoring material and labor costs to reflect current market conditions
• Incorporating schedule impacts into cost estimates
• Supporting change order takeoffs and documentation in line with company procedures
• Maintaining complete project records including RFIs, emails, takeoffs, photos, and schedules
• Communicating scope and technical details to internal teams
• Supporting operations by structuring estimates to align with labor tracking and project milestones
• Identifying risks, potential issues, and opportunities to improve competitiveness
• Ensuring professional communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Attending jobsite visits when required

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial electrical estimating
• Experience with electrical estimating software (e.g., Accubid Enterprise, LiveCount preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation types
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Willingness to attend jobsite visits and work in construction environments when required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate active construction sites when necessary
