About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator
to join our team in Wilmington. The ideal candidate will have experience in design/build
environments and will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects up to $3 million. You will play a critical role in supporting our project teams from concept through bid submission, helping to ensure our projects are competitively priced and aligned with client expectations.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects up to $3M in value.
- Review project plans, specifications, and design-build documents to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary pricing and project data.
- Evaluate labor, material, and time requirements for each project.
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations to leadership and clients.
- Track historical data and develop unit cost information.
- Assist in value engineering processes and provide cost-saving recommendations.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, local codes, and cost fluctuations in materials and labor.
About the Candidate
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical estimating within the commercial or industrial construction sector.
- Demonstrated experience with design/build project delivery.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and installation processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (such as Accubid, McCormick, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
