The Role

My client is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee and manage all field operations for large commercial drywall projects. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, to budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Superintendent will act as the main point of contact on-site, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and suppliers while working closely with project managers and senior leadership. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity with clear pathways into senior operations management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all site operations across multiple large commercial drywall projects

• Manage foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure productivity and quality standards are met

• Develop and manage project schedules, sequencing of works, and resource planning

• Interpret architectural and structural drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications

• Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and material handling

• Conduct daily site meetings, safety briefings, and progress reviews

• Monitor quality control, resolve field issues, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting

• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies at all times

• Liaise with project managers, GCs, architects, and clients to maintain strong communication and resolve challenges

• Mentor and develop foremen and field staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and safety

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in large-scale commercial drywall projects, with proven experience in a superintendent role

• Strong technical knowledge of drywall systems, framing, finishing, and complex commercial interiors

• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage large crews and multiple subcontractors

• Solid understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and project management

• Proven ability to maintain safety standards and ensure OSHA compliance

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings

• Highly organized, proactive, and capable of problem-solving in fast-paced environments

• Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel to multiple sites across the DMV region
