About the Role

You will lead, coordinate, and oversee drywall and metal framing projects from pre-construction through to close-out. Your goal is to deliver on time, within budget, safely and to the required quality standards, interfacing with field staff, subcontractors, clients and internal teams.

You will be responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive estimates for drywall, metal framing, and specialty finish scopes. You will analyze drawings, specifications, and trade requirements to develop detailed cost proposals. The goal is to produce reliable estimates that support project acquisition and profitable project delivery. You will collaborate closely with project managers, field teams, suppliers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents to fully understand project requirements.

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs of materials such as drywall, framing, insulation, specialty ceilings, and finishes.

• Develop complete cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor pricing, general conditions, and overhead.

• Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing for materials and specialty products.

• Prepare bid proposals, scope breakdowns, alternates, and value engineering options.

• Attend pre-bid meetings, job site walkthroughs, and coordination sessions to clarify scope and project conditions.

• Coordinate with project teams to support hand-off from estimating to operations once a job is secured.

• Maintain organized estimate files, pricing libraries, and cost history databases for future use.

• Evaluate drawings for constructability concerns, inconsistencies, and potential risks; issue RFIs as needed.

• Assist with budgeting, conceptual estimates, and feasibility pricing during early project stages.

• Track bid deadlines and ensure proposals are completed and submitted accurately and on time.

About the Candidate

• Minimum 3+ years of experience estimating drywall, metal framing, or related interior scopes.

• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building assemblies.

• Proficiency performing quantity take-offs and reading architectural & structural drawings.

• Competence with estimating software, take-off tools, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work under time pressure and manage multiple bids simultaneously.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience estimating specialty finishes, acoustical systems, or high-end interiors.

• Knowledge of local market pricing, subcontractor networks, and material suppliers.

• Familiarity with construction project workflows and job cost tracking.

• Safety certifications or knowledge of construction safety standards.

• Experience in the commercial construction sector is strongly preferred.
