Our client is an established commercial drywall contractor looking to strengthen its team as part of its planned growth heading into 2027. They are focused on bringing in quality people who want to build a long-term career within the business, rather than simply filling positions.

As Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the delivery of commercial drywall projects, working closely with Project Managers and field teams to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely and to the required standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of commercial drywall projects.

• Assisting with project documentation, submittals, schedules and change orders.

• Coordinating with field teams, suppliers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

• Helping monitor project progress, costs, materials and deadlines.

• Supporting communication between the office and site teams.

• Assisting with resolving project issues and maintaining accurate project records.

• Developing your commercial, administrative and client-facing skills.

Career Progression: The primary goal is to develop into a Project Manager, although there may also be opportunities to progress into estimating depending on your strengths and interests.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial drywall experience who wants to develop their career, build on their existing construction knowledge and take on greater responsibility within a growing contractor.

The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial construction, ideally within drywall, metal framing or commercial interiors. You may already be working as an Assistant Project Manager, or you could be an experienced Foreman or Superintendent looking to take the next step into project management.

You'll be organised, proactive and keen to develop your technical and commercial skills. A solid understanding of construction operations, combined with the ability to learn project administration and coordination, will be important.
