Reports To: Project Manager / Director of Operations
Department: Project Management
Location: Florida – Office & Field-Based (Regional Travel Required)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt


Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of drywall and framing projects across commercial and multifamily developments in Florida. This role involves assisting in project documentation, subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets. The ideal candidate possesses a foundational understanding of drywall systems, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


 

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules and budgets.

  • Support the preparation and distribution of project documentation, including contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Field Support

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards.

  • Collaborate with field superintendents and foremen to address on-site issues and facilitate effective communication between the field and office.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Participate in project meetings and assist in preparing progress reports for clients and stakeholders.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.

Administrative Duties

  • Manage project documentation and ensure records are up-to-date and accurately filed.

  • Assist in the preparation of invoices, billing, and financial tracking related to project expenditures.

About the Candidate

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction project coordination or management, preferably within the drywall or framing sectors.

    • Familiarity with commercial or multifamily construction projects is advantageous.

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

    • Equivalent field experience will be considered.

    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.

      • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

      • Certifications:
        • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications preferred.

        • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

        • Soft Skills:
          • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

          • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

          • Proactive and adaptable with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.


            Working Conditions
