About the Client

Our client is seeking their first Account Executive to establish and grow their business development function in the Denver market. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys creating opportunities rather than responding to tenders, with a focus on developing long-term relationships directly with end clients.

Working for a well-established mechanical contractor specialising in HVAC, pipe fitting and plumbing, you will identify and secure service, retrofit and industrial projects, partnering closely with the Pre-Construction team to convert opportunities into successful project wins.

Working for a well-established mechanical contractor specialising in HVAC, pipe fitting and plumbing, you will identify and secure service, retrofit and industrial projects, partnering closely with the Pre-Construction team to convert opportunities into successful project wins.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new business relationships with end users and facility owners.
  • Generate opportunities for service, retrofit and industrial mechanical projects.
  • Target work before it reaches the tender stage or drawing package phase.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Spend the majority of your time meeting clients and developing relationships in the field.
  • Collaborate with the Pre-Construction team to support project pricing and proposals.
  • Represent the business professionally and help establish its presence within the local market.

About the Candidate

We're looking for a self-motivated business development professional who can hit the ground running and enjoys opening doors, building relationships and creating opportunities.

You'll ideally have:
  • Previous experience in business development, account management or outside sales within the construction or mechanical industry.
  • Experience selling directly to end users, owners or facility managers rather than relying solely on General Contractors.
  • A proactive approach to generating new business and developing long-term client relationships.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical systems, with familiarity with HVAC terminology such as AHUs (Air Handling Units). Deep technical knowledge is not required.
  • A driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ambition to play a key role in growing a successful business development function.
