Role Overview

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will gain hands-on experience supporting commercial duties on-site. You’ll work under a senior QS within a thriving subcontractor environment, helping bridge the gap between academic knowledge and live project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly valuations and subcontractor payment applications

• Assist with cost reporting, cost tracking, and budget monitoring

• Help compile subcontract orders, undertake material take?offs, and manage procurement workflows

• Attend site progress meetings, maintaining commercial documentation and variation logs

• Collaborate with the QS and site team to forecast cash flow and produce accurate commercial reports

Who We're Looking For

• Recent graduate with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent

• Strong academic record and keen interest in cost control, contract management, and commercial construction

• Ideally some exposure to subcontractor environments or trade-based projects (e.g., drylining or interiors)

• Comfortable working on-site across multiple locations, with a flexible and proactive mindset

• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and numeracy
