The company is an established Florida General Contractor with offices throughout the state and a long history of delivering complex commercial construction projects. Their work ranges from approximately $3M to $60M, with a core project range of $10M–$30M. They operate across multiple market sectors, including K-20 education, multifamily, hospitality, entertainment, food & beverage, industrial, office, retail, historic renovation, and worship. The company has built a strong reputation around quality, safety, careful project sequencing, strong subcontractor relationships, and long-term partnerships with clients and industry partners. This is a salaried, exempt position with the opportunity to join an established construction organization and take a significant leadership role within its Orlando operations.

About the Role

We are working with an established Florida General Contractor looking to add a Site Operations Manager to their Orlando team. The Site Operations Manager will take ownership of field operations for assigned construction projects, overseeing the project schedule, subcontractors, manpower, equipment, materials, site logistics, safety, quality, and day-to-day execution. The company has a strong reputation across Florida and delivers projects ranging from approximately $3M–$60M, with the majority of work falling in the $10M–$30M range. Their portfolio includes education, multifamily, hospitality, entertainment, industrial, office, retail, historic renovation, food & beverage, and worship projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial construction background, with specific experience in either education or multifamily construction.

About the Candidate

  • Lead and coordinate all field activities for assigned construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, sequencing, manpower requirements, equipment needs, materials, and site logistics.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Estimators, subcontractors, architects, owners, and design professionals.
  • Ensure construction is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Take ownership of subcontractor coordination, productivity, sequencing, and field performance.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule delays, conflicts, or productivity issues before they impact the project.
  • Maintain strong communication with senior management regarding project status, field conditions, potential problems, and schedule concerns.
  • Coordinate delivery of materials and equipment and ensure proper documentation of deliveries.
  • Review drawings, specifications, proposals, and contract documents to understand project scope and construction requirements.
  • Lead daily jobsite operations while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive site.
  • Maintain responsibility for jobsite safety and compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular site safety walks and identify, correct, and document potential hazards.
  • Conduct or assist with weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspections, training records, and incident reporting.
  • Participate in accident investigations and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily reports, weekly project paperwork, schedules, and other required project documentation.
  • Monitor quality control throughout the project and ensure work meets project requirements.
  • Support the development, training, and performance of field personnel.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, coaching, and evaluation of craft employees where required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
  • Assist with hands-on construction activities when required by project conditions.
  • Travel may be required depending on project needs.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role such as Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, Site Operations Manager, or similar.
  • Education or multifamily construction experience strongly preferred and will be a key requirement for this position.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling, sequencing, quality control, safety, and site logistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and lead field teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with construction scheduling and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to satisfy project-specific background checks, badging, and security requirements where applicable.
  • OSHA/safety certifications are preferred.
  • Construction-related degree, technical training, or equivalent experience preferred.
