A leading specialty contractor is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer (PE)
to join its growing team. This is a key technical role responsible for the structural design, review, and approval of architectural metal systems, miscellaneous metals, and building envelope components across a wide range of commercial construction projects.
The successful candidate will serve as the company's in-house engineering resource, providing structural expertise, reviewing calculations, signing and sealing drawings where required, and supporting project teams throughout the design, fabrication, and construction process.

About the Role
- Review, design, and engineer structural support systems for architectural metals, miscellaneous steel, canopies, railings, stairs, sunshades, and other specialty systems.
- Perform structural calculations in accordance with applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Sign and seal engineering drawings and calculations where required.
- Respond to technical questions from project managers, estimators, fabricators, architects, consultants, and clients.
- Review shop drawings and fabrication drawings for structural integrity and constructability.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers of record, and general contractors to resolve design issues.
- Provide value engineering solutions to improve constructability and reduce project costs.
- Support estimating and preconstruction teams with engineering input during bid and proposal stages.
- Ensure all engineering documentation complies with local, state, and national building codes.
- Assist with troubleshooting field issues and provide engineering solutions throughout project execution.
About the Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience within commercial construction, miscellaneous metals, architectural metals, glazing, curtain wall, steel fabrication, or building envelope.
- Strong understanding of structural steel design and connection detailing.
- Experience reviewing and approving shop drawings and fabrication packages.
- Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC Steel Manual, and relevant building codes.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar engineering software is preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
