Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Suffolk
Salary: £80,000–£90,000 + Comprehensive Package

A leading UK main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a major construction project in Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering a large, complex scheme with a long-term programme of work. You'll play a key role in the commercial success of the project, working closely with the project leadership team from procurement through to final account.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of the project, ensuring costs are controlled while maximising value and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing project costs and budgets.
• Procurement and subcontract package management.
• Valuations, applications for payment and change management.
• Cost reporting and forecasting.
• Managing variations and contractual matters.
• Negotiating subcontractor accounts and agreeing final accounts.
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where required.
• Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to ensure successful project outcomes.

We're looking for an experienced commercial professional who has:

• A proven background working for a recognised Tier 1 or established Tier 2 main contractor.
• Experience delivering projects valued at £60 million or above.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• The ability to build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• A proactive approach with excellent communication and organisational skills.
