Senior HVAC Project Manager

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing large-scale mechanical construction projects from inception through completion, coupled with strong leadership capabilities and a comprehensive understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems. Experience overseeing complex projects involving chilled water systems, piping, sheet metal, plumbing, and building controls is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful execution of commercial mechanical construction projects from project turnover through final closeout
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and overall project execution strategies
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field teams to ensure project milestones are achieved
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients, owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
• Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, procurement activities, equipment tracking, and contract compliance requirements
• Monitor project performance, productivity, costs, and financial metrics to ensure successful project outcomes
• Prepare and manage project billings, cost projections, forecasting reports, and financial updates
• Identify, track, negotiate, and administer project change orders and scope modifications
• Provide leadership and direction to field supervision and trade teams supporting HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal, and controls scopes
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards, quality requirements, project schedules, and budget objectives
• Support project closeout, commissioning activities, client turnover, and final documentation processes
• Foster strong client relationships while driving operational excellence and successful project delivery across multiple stakeholders and disciplines

Qualifications

Required:
• 8+ years of project management experience within commercial mechanical construction environments
• Proven success managing HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal, or mechanical construction projects valued from $3M to $20M+
• Experience supporting healthcare, institutional, commercial, laboratory, mission-critical, or higher education construction projects
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including chilled water systems and associated mechanical equipment
• Working knowledge of piping, sheet metal, plumbing, and building automation/control systems
• Proficiency with construction management software, project scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong leadership, communication, client management, negotiation, and team coordination skills

Preferred:
• Experience managing plumbing scopes on large-scale mechanical construction projects
• Background supporting complex healthcare, hospital, or critical facility construction projects
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• Experience managing multiple projects and field teams simultaneously in a fast-paced construction environment
