About the Role

Based in Houston, TX, the Senior Estimator will take ownership of complex estimating and preconstruction efforts from conceptual design through final proposal submission.

Responsibilities will include:

Lead detailed estimates for major electrical construction projects.
Complete quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing.
Review drawings, specifications, schedules and phasing requirements.
Lead bid strategy, scope reviews, bid leveling and pricing evaluations.
Develop conceptual budgets, schematic estimates and GMP/design-build proposals.
Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
Evaluate labor productivity, escalation, procurement risk and construction sequencing.
Participate in executive estimate reviews and client presentations.
Coordinate with Operations, Project Management, BIM/VDC, Procurement and Field Leadership.
Lead estimate turnover and post-bid reviews.
Mentor junior members of the estimating team.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

6–10+ years of progressive Electrical Estimating experience.
Background with an Electrical Contractor across Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, Manufacturing and/or Mission Critical projects.
Experience leading large and complex electrical estimates and major bid pursuits.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS, lighting, controls, grounding and low-voltage systems.
Experience with conceptual estimates, hard bids, negotiated work, design-build and GMP proposals.
Strong understanding of labor forecasting, productivity, constructability, value engineering and risk analysis.
Experience with estimating platforms such as Accubid, Trimble, ConEst or equivalent, alongside Bluebeam or similar takeoff software.
Mission Critical/Data Center estimating experience would be highly advantageous.
Comfortable mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior Estimators.
