Project Manager

A growing commercial glazing contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial glazing projects throughout the Atlanta market.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of curtain wall, storefront, entrances and architectural glazing, with the ability to manage projects from initial handover through fabrication, installation and final closeout.

 Take full ownership of commercial glazing projects from contract award through completion.

• Manage projects involving unitized and/or stick curtain wall, storefront, aluminum entrances and commercial glazing systems.

• Review contract documents, architectural drawings, specifications and glazing details.

• Review and coordinate shop drawings, engineering, glass requirements, aluminum framing and system details.

• Manage the submittal process, including shop drawings, product data, samples and material approvals.

• Prepare, submit and track RFIs and ensure technical questions are resolved quickly.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating engineering, fabrication, delivery and installation.

• Coordinate material procurement, including glass, aluminum, hardware and glazing accessories.

• Work directly with fabrication teams to ensure materials are produced in line with project requirements and schedule.

• Coordinate deliveries and installation sequencing with General Contractors and site superintendents.

• Manage glazing subcontractors and field installation crews.

• Monitor manpower and productivity during installation.

• Identify and resolve field issues involving dimensions, openings, substrates, interfaces and installation conditions.

• Manage change orders, potential extras and additional work.

• Track project costs, committed costs, billing and overall project profitability.

• Attend project meetings with General Contractors, architects and other trades.

• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide updates on project progress.

• Manage punch lists, testing, inspections and final project closeout.

• Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately throughout the project.

• 3+ years of Project Management experience within commercial glazing.

• Strong experience with curtain wall and storefront systems.

• Experience managing projects for General Contractors on commercial construction projects.

• Strong understanding of architectural and shop drawings.

• Experience coordinating glazing engineering and shop drawings.

• Experience managing procurement, fabrication and installation.

• Strong knowledge of commercial glass, aluminum framing, hardware and glazing components.

• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders and project schedules.

• Ability to understand project financials, budgets and cost forecasts.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to deal directly with GCs, architects, vendors and field teams.
