Reports To: Director of Operations / Senior Project Executive
Department: Project Management

Location: Florida – Office & Field-Based (Regional Travel Required)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt


Position Summary

My client is seeking a proactive and experienced Drywall Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of drywall and framing projects across commercial and multifamily developments in Florida. This role will lead project planning, coordination, subcontractor management, and client communication, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a solid background in drywall construction, strong leadership qualities, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned drywall projects from award through closeout.

  • Create and manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes in collaboration with estimating and operations.

  • Review and coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, and long-lead items.

Field & Subcontractor Coordination

  • Work closely with field superintendents and foremen to ensure efficient site execution.

  • Source, negotiate, and manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with KD Construction’s standards.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, general contractors, and consultants throughout the project.

  • Lead project meetings and provide timely updates, progress reports, and look-ahead schedules.

  • Facilitate coordination with other trades to prevent conflicts and delays.

Financial Management

  • Track project costs, issue change orders, and manage billing cycles with the accounting team.

  • Monitor job profitability and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.

  • Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project outcomes.

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure all installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.

  • Support field teams in enforcing OSHA and their safety policies.

  • Participate in punch walks, QA/QC inspections, and final closeouts

About the Candidate

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in drywall project management, with commercial or multifamily projects strongly preferred.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and subcontractors in a high-volume environment.

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

    • Equivalent field experience with a strong drywall background will be considered.

    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficient in Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.

      • Strong blueprint reading and knowledge of specifications, scopes, and sequencing of drywall/framing systems.

      • Certifications:
        • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR preferred.

        • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

        • Soft Skills:
          • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

          • Ability to work independently, problem-solve in real time, and manage multiple stakeholders.


            Working Conditions

            • Hybrid role requiring time in the office and regular jobsite visits.

            • Exposure to active construction environments with occasional evening/weekend work based on project demands.

            • Travel required to job sites across the state of Florida.
