Lead Preconstruction Director

Our client is a well-established and highly respected general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex construction projects throughout Dallas and the wider DFW market.

With a diverse portfolio spanning public sector, commercial, education, healthcare, retail, and ground-up construction, the company delivers projects ranging from $10 million to $70 million.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work for 2027, they are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Director to take a senior leadership role within their preconstruction team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the preconstruction function for projects across the Dallas/DFW market.
• Manage preconstruction activities from initial pursuit and conceptual budgeting through to contract execution.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key subcontractors, consultants, clients, and design partners.

• Help establish and improve preconstruction processes, standards, and best practices across the business.

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of commercial construction experience, with significant preconstruction experience.
• Previous experience with a general contractor is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record leading preconstruction on projects in the $10M–$70M range.
• Strong experience with ground-up construction.
• Experience across multiple sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, retail, public sector, or similar.
• Strong understanding of estimating, construction methods, scheduling, procurement, contracts, and subcontractor markets.
