Plumbing Superintendent

My client are a full service, turnkey mechanical engineering and contracting firm who offer an exceptional service to their clients across the states.

They have an extensive amount of experience in all aspects of mechanical systems; budgeting, design, installation and service, allowing them to partner with the entire construction team to minimize hassles and simplify the construction process.

Their clients depend on their abilities to design, price and install mechanical systems for their projects that provide their Clients with the most appropriate system for their facility. 

Scope of Work:  The Plumbing & Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of plumbing and mechanical operations for construction projects in  . This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement project schedules and timelines.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless integration of plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential issues or delays.
• Prepare and submit progress reports and updates.

• Recruit, hire, and train plumbing and mechanical technicians.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.

• Inspect and verify the quality of plumbing and mechanical installations.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and specifications.
• Identify and address any defects or non-conformances.

• Prepare and manage project budgets.
• Monitor costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain favorable pricing

• Investigate and report accidents and incidents.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and training.
• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a plumbing or mechanical superintendent in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems, codes, and regulations.
• Proven leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.  
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Certification in construction management or a related field.
• Experience with sustainable building practices and green construction.
