Plumbing Estimator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical estimating, specifically within the plumbing sector, and a proven ability to analyze drawings, develop accurate takeoffs, and produce competitive project bids. This is a key role within our preconstruction team, with direct impact on our ability to secure and deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and RFP documents to prepare detailed plumbing estimates

• Perform material, labor, and equipment takeoffs for piping systems, fixtures, valves, and equipment

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and pricing

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes

• Use estimating software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft) to generate accurate bids

• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed

• Assist in value engineering and design-build proposals

• Maintain current knowledge of industry pricing, labor rates, and construction trends

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in plumbing estimating, preferably within a mechanical contracting or MEP environment

• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and installation practices

• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings and specifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

Need to be experienced Plumbing Estimator brings a solid background in mechanical contracting with a proven ability to develop accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for commercial and industrial plumbing projects. With a deep understanding of plumbing systems, piping layouts, fixture selection, equipment sizing, and labor/material costing , this candidate plays a key role in driving profitable project acquisition.

• Extensive experience preparing estimates for plumbing scopes on design-build and plan/spec projects

• Skilled in reviewing blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed takeoffs and cost breakdowns

• Proficient in estimating software such as Trimble, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft , or similar platforms

• Strong understanding of local plumbing codes , labor rates, and supplier/vendor pricing

• Works closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure scope clarity and accurate pricing
