Installation of refrigeration systems following customer specifications, applicable building code and proper piping practices. Specifically doing work in large Supermarkets like HEB, Walmart and Trader Joes.
About the Role
Responsibilities
- Travel to site and participates in managing installation P/L
- Oversees and ensures project level profitability
- Coordinates and plans installation projects
- Orchestrates scheduling
- Forecasts manpower requirements
- Reports on job status/performance
- Ensures customer expectations are met
- Resolves issues/problems
- Develops/maintains productive relationships with customers, GCs and subcontractors
- Interviews, selects, hires and oversees onboarding of foremen and install crews
- Manages performance and provides training, coaching and performance feedback to crew
- Uses metrics to drive accountability and performance
- Ensures compliance of install policies and procedures - including project tracking, safety, time, attendance, etc
- Ensures use of PPE and application of safe behavior by all employees
- Familiar with C02 & R290 systems
- Read blueprints, braising copper, work with 1/4-4 1/8
- May oversee 3rd party resources
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education/Training
- High School Diploma, GED or Completion of Trade Program/Technical School
- College Degree, not required - a plus
About the Candidate
This Travel-Based Supervisor
is responsible for the profitable execution and delivery of Installation services in a specific geography or for a specific specialty (HVAC, EMS, etc). The supervisor also serves as a technical lead and/or mentor to other technicians in their area of responsibility, as well as a technical resource on projects, depending on business needs and customer demand.
- 2 Years as a Foreman, 5 Years as a Pipefitter
- Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including labor hour estimation, forecasting, multiple disciplines involved in area of responsibility
- Experience in hiring and managing subcontractors, preferred
- Strong leadership skills, demonstrated experience managing a diverse/multi-disciplined workforce
- Proficient in coaching, training, developing, building a team
- Proficient in managing time, delegating assignments, and following through to ensure results
- Proficiency in understanding and managing P&L
- Proficient in managing multiple assignments, setting and balancing priorities with strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to solve problems with good judgement
- Excellent verbal/non-verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong customer service, including an ability to proactively address customer issues and concerns and ability to forge working relationships with customers
- Knowledge of jobsite safety, oversee work and ensure safe work practices and rule compliance
- Good driving record
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and applicable State and Federal laws
- Ability to use typical business tools: Email, Word, Excel, Work Order/Dispatch Software, ERP, etc
