About the Role

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Refrigeration Technician to support the service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex refrigeration and process cooling systems across industrial and commercial facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise working with large-scale refrigeration equipment, low-temperature systems, and industrial cooling applications commonly found in manufacturing, food processing, distribution, and cold storage environments.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on field experience, advanced troubleshooting capabilities, and a commitment to safety, operational reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial refrigeration, chiller, and process cooling systems
• Service and maintain centrifugal, reciprocating, screw, absorption, and ammonia-based refrigeration equipment
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, controls, and refrigeration-related issues on complex industrial systems
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak detection, charging, start-up, commissioning, and system performance verification activities
• Support emergency service requests, scheduled maintenance programs, and planned shutdown activities for industrial customers
• Read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical manuals
• Accurately complete service reports, work orders, inspections, and project documentation
• Maintain compliance with applicable safety regulations, environmental standards, and company operating procedures
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication, technical expertise, and service excellence
• Travel throughout the assigned service territory to support customer facilities and project requirements
• Collaborate with internal operations, engineering, and project teams to ensure successful service delivery and customer satisfaction
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvements, preventative maintenance enhancements, and system optimization initiatives

About the Candidate

Qualifications

Required:
• 4+ years of experience servicing industrial refrigeration, process cooling, ammonia systems, or heavy commercial refrigeration equipment
• Hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing large-scale refrigeration or chiller systems within manufacturing, processing, cold storage, distribution, or industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration technologies, including centrifugal, reciprocating, screw, absorption, and ammonia-based systems
• Experience working with a variety of refrigerants commonly utilized in industrial and low-temperature applications
• EPA 608 Universal Certification or equivalent refrigerant handling certification
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as required
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple service priorities in a field environment

Preferred:
• Manufacturer training, factory certifications, or specialized training on industrial refrigeration and chiller systems
• Experience with industrial controls, automation systems, PLCs, or building automation systems (BAS)
• TWIC Card or ability to obtain one
• Experience supporting food processing, cold storage, distribution, manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial production facilities
• Familiarity with ammonia safety procedures, PSM environments, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Advanced knowledge of low-temperature refrigeration applications and industrial process cooling systems
