About the Role

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of complex mechanical systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, manufacturing, and higher education facilities. This role provides the opportunity to work on sophisticated HVAC equipment and building systems while supporting critical customer operations in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, startup, and commissioning of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems
• Service and maintain chillers, hydronic systems, pumps, air handling equipment, HVAC controls, and related mechanical equipment
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues on commercial building systems
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, system testing, and performance verification activities
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and technical documentation
• Complete service reports, work orders, and customer documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships through effective communication and high-quality service delivery
• Respond to scheduled maintenance visits, service calls, and emergency response situations as required
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, safety regulations, company procedures, and customer site requirements

About the Candidate

Qualifications

Required:

• 4+ years of experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC systems
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing chilled water systems and large commercial mechanical equipment
• Working knowledge of chillers, hydronic systems, HVAC controls, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment
• EPA 608 Universal Certification
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while managing field service assignments and customer relationships
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete documentation and service reporting accurately

Preferred:

• Experience with DDC controls, BAS, or building automation systems
• Experience supporting healthcare, commercial, institutional, manufacturing, higher education, or mission-critical facilities
• Factory training, manufacturer certifications, or advanced technical HVAC training
• Understanding of HVAC system optimization, controls integration, and energy efficiency initiatives
• Experience servicing complex commercial HVAC and central plant equipment
