HVAC Project Manager

Our client is a leading commercial mechanical contractor with a strong presence across the Southeast and a long-standing reputation for delivering complex HVAC, plumbing, piping, controls, service, retrofit, and mission-critical projects. The organization supports a diverse portfolio that includes commercial high-rise, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, institutional, pharmaceutical, and data center facilities.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee commercial mechanical construction and retrofit projects throughout the region.

• Lead commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
• Manage project financials, including cost tracking, billing, change orders, and profitability.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, architects, vendors, field supervision, and subcontractors.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Support field teams in resolving technical challenges and maintaining productivity.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality requirements, and client expectations.
• Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
• Manage project commissioning, startup activities, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
• Identify risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain project success.

• 5+ years of HVAC or mechanical project management experience.
• Experience managing commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, manufacturing, or institutional projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sheet metal, piping, plumbing, controls, and commissioning processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining budgets and schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and construction scheduling platforms.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Knowledge of contract administration, change order management, procurement, and risk mitigation.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred (equivalent industry experience considered).
