HVAC Project Manager

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from project award through final closeout. This role is responsible for managing project execution, financial performance, scheduling, contract administration, and client relationships while serving as the primary liaison between customers, field operations, and internal project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background managing commercial mechanical construction projects, strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial mechanical construction projects from turnover through final completion and warranty closeout
• Manage project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and overall financial performance
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, project documentation, and contract administration activities
• Coordinate material procurement, equipment deliveries, fabrication schedules, subcontractors, and field operations to support project timelines
• Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, contract compliance, schedules, and overall project performance
• Partner with operations, accounting, field leadership, fabrication teams, and executive management to ensure efficient project execution
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and effective issue resolution
• Oversee commissioning, punch list completion, turnover documentation, warranty support, and project closeout activities
• Ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, quality expectations, and all applicable safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience managing commercial HVAC or mechanical construction projects
• Proven experience overseeing projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, mechanical construction methods, and MEP coordination
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractors, RFIs, submittals, contract documentation, and change orders
• Demonstrated financial acumen, including cost tracking, forecasting, and contract administration
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as required

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Experience managing commercial projects within healthcare, office, education, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM platforms, or similar construction management technologies
• Previous experience working for a commercial mechanical or MEP contractor
