HVAC Estimator

Role Overview

As the HVAC Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for HVAC projects, from concept through to final proposal. This includes analyzing plans and specifications, performing take-offs, soliciting vendor quotes, and collaborating with the operations team to develop winning bid strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and experience estimating a variety of project sizes and types.


Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand scope and requirements.

• Perform detailed material and labor take-offs for HVAC systems (ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, etc.).

• Obtain and analyze quotes from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness.

• Prepare comprehensive and accurate bid proposals in coordination with the project management team.

• Track bid progress, results, and follow-ups using estimating software and internal systems.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.

• Maintain updated cost databases, vendor relationships, and historical project pricing.

• Identify and communicate value engineering options and risk mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams during handoff of awarded projects.
