General Superintendent - Tampa

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Superintendent with a strong background in HVAC systems, and deep knowledge of mechanical, piping, and plumbing disciplines. This position will play a pivotal role in the successful field execution of large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects in the Tampa region. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on the job site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to field staff, subcontractors, and trades on multiple active projects.

• Oversee the installation and integration of HVAC, mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.

• Ensure all work meets or exceeds code requirements, design specifications, and quality standards.

• Coordinate schedules, manpower, tools, materials, and equipment across all job sites.

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, safety, and compliance.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to resolve technical issues.

• Maintain up-to-date project documentation and reporting for senior leadership.

• Enforce and promote a culture of safety in alignment with OSHA standards and company policies.

• Participate in planning meetings and pre-construction activities to identify risks and logistics strategies.

• Minimum 10+ years of field experience in HVAC and mechanical construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role .

• Deep technical knowledge in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems (sheet metal, chilled water, hydronic, gas, medical gas, etc.).

• Experience leading crews on large-scale commercial, institutional, or industrial projects.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documents.

• Strong understanding of construction schedules, cost controls, and productivity metrics.

• OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications a plus.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

• Tech-savvy; familiarity with construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, etc.) is a plus.

• Ability to travel locally around the Tampa Bay area as needed.
