About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer
to join our in-house design team. This position will be responsible for developing complete fire sprinkler system designs and ensuring drawings are accurate, code-compliant, coordinated, and ready for fabrication and installation.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with fire sprinkler design, understands NFPA requirements and applicable building codes, and can take a project from initial design through finished construction drawings.

- Develop complete fire sprinkler system designs for commercial, industrial, residential, and/or other applicable projects.
- Produce finished fire sprinkler drawings suitable for permit, construction, and project release.
- Prepare and maintain accurate sprinkler layouts, riser diagrams, details, hydraulic calculations, and related design documentation.
- Review project plans, architectural drawings, structural drawings, and MEP plans for coordination and constructability.
- Coordinate sprinkler layouts with other trades and resolve design conflicts.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable NFPA standards, building codes, fire codes, and project specifications.
- Review field/installation drawings to verify that the installation information accurately reflects the approved design.
- Identify and communicate design discrepancies, field conditions, and required revisions.
- Make necessary revisions to drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, fabrication personnel, field installers, and other members of the design team.
- Maintain organized project files and drawing revisions.
About the Candidate
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ Years Experience designing fire sprinkler systems.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 13 Standards and applicable fire protection codes and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and other construction drawings.
- Experience producing detailed and accurate fire sprinkler construction drawings.
- Ability to review and redline fabrication and field drawings to produce As Built.
- Strong understanding of sprinkler system components, piping, fittings, valves, hangers, and installation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies before they reach fabrication or the field.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- NICET II certification in Water-Based Systems Layout.
