About the Role

Strong Fire Alarm Professional needed

The Fire Alarm BDM is responsible for identifying and securing high-value contracts in the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. The primary goal is to build a "pipeline" by influencing key decision-makers— electrical engineers, general contractors, and facility directors —before a project even goes to bid.

  • Base salary - $110,000, maybe slightly more for a top-class candidate

About the Candidate

Experience
  • 5-7+ years in the Fire alarm industry
  • (Estimating, Sales, or Design).
  • Need to be confident in New Construction Fire Alarm Sales and Estimating
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development:  Prospect and qualify new sales leads; follow up on inquiries from general contractors, owners, and developers.
  • Project Estimation:  Analyze blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications to perform "take-offs" (quantifying detectors, heads, fittings, and valves).
  • On-Site Surveys:  Visit job sites to evaluate existing conditions, especially for tenant improvements (TI) or retrofit projects.
  • Code Compliance:  Apply knowledge of  NFPA codes, such as 72 & IBC  and related   standards to ensure the proposed design approach is viable.
  • Bid Preparation:  Generate detailed cost estimates including design time, Panel costs, equipment rentals, permits, and field labor.
  • Negotiation:  Present proposals to clients, negotiate terms, and close the sale to meet or exceed annual sales quotas.
  • Hand-off:  Transition won projects to the Design and Project Management teams with a clear scope of work and budget
Strong Fire Alarm Professional needed
  • Experience:
  • 5/7+ years in the Fire alarm industry (Estimating, Sales, or Design).
  • Need to be confident in New Construction Fire Alarm Sales and Estimating.
  • Technical Literacy:
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, BIM models, and calculations.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., McCormick, Accubid) and ideally design software like AlarmCAD, FireCAD or Revit .
  • Licensing/Certification:
    • NICET Level II or higher  in Fire Alarm Systems Layout (strongly preferred).
    • Good knowledge / cross section of Addressable Panels
    • Knowledge of state-specific fire marshal regulations and local building codes.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong negotiation, time management, and the ability to manage
