About the Role

A leading commercial drywall and framing contractor is seeking a highly skilled Estimator / Project Manager to join their growing team in Miami or Lakeland, Florida. This dual-role position is ideal for a construction professional with strong estimating expertise and proven project delivery experience in the drywall, metal framing, and acoustical ceiling space.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

• Prepare accurate, detailed take-offs and cost estimates for commercial drywall, framing, and ceiling systems.

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare bids and proposals.

• Develop pricing strategies and coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive material costs.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and clarify project scopes with general contractors and architects.

• Maintain and update the internal cost database and estimating tools.

Project Management

• Oversee awarded projects from pre-construction through completion.

• Develop and maintain construction schedules, budgets, and manpower forecasts.

• Coordinate closely with site superintendents, subcontractors, and field staff to ensure quality and timely execution.

• Act as the primary point of contact with clients during project execution, maintaining strong communication and relationships.

• Handle project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and close-out packages.

equired Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in estimating and/or project management for commercial drywall and metal framing projects.

• In-depth understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and estimating software.

• Proven ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to build solid relationships with GCs, suppliers, and internal teams.

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or similar estimating software.

• Knowledge of Florida commercial construction market and building codes.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

• Construction Management degree or equivalent experience.
