About the Role
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for ground-up and complex commercial projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to develop accurate scopes and quantities
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor bids
- Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates
- Participate in value engineering, scope reviews, and cost-saving initiatives
- Collaborate with preconstruction, project managers, superintendents, and design teams
- Identify risks, constructability issues, and cost impacts early in the process
- Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and historical cost information
- Assist with bid presentations and client meetings as needed
About the Candidate
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience within commercial construction
- Experience estimating large-scale projects such as healthcare, higher education, mission-critical, industrial, or corporate facilities
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, means and methods, and code requirements
- Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, MC2, or similar) and takeoff tools (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff)
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational abilities
- Preferred Experience
- Experience working for a general contractor or large electrical contractor
- Exposure to GMP, negotiated, and design-build delivery methods
- Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management platforms
