Electrical Estimator

Position Summary
The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and pricing, as well as experience reading blueprints and specifications. This is a key role within our preconstruction team and provides a critical link between sales, engineering, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive electrical estimates.

• Perform accurate quantity take-offs of electrical materials and labor.

• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.

• Develop and maintain detailed cost databases for future estimates.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.

• Participate in bid reviews and strategy meetings.

• Track and maintain records of estimates, change orders, and bid results.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.

• 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably with a commercial or industrial focus.

• Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code), construction methods, and materials.

• Proficient in estimating software (such as Accubid, Trimble, ConEst) and MS Office Suite.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics.

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
