Drywall Workers

As a Drywall Hanger / Finisher, you will play a key role in executing commercial drywall installation and finishing work on mid- to large-scale construction projects. This position requires strong hands-on skills in hanging gypsum board, finishing/leveling joints, and ensuring surfaces meet quality standards. You must follow project plans and specifications under the guidance of field leadership and work collaboratively with other trades to achieve production goals.

 

Drywall Installation

• Hang gypsum boards (interior and exterior where specified) to structural and architectural framing.

• Cut and fit drywall around openings, penetrations, and structural variations.

• Properly fasten materials according to design specifications and building code standards.

Finishing & Quality

• Tape, mud, and finish drywall joints to meet specified finish levels.

• Sand, texture, and prepare surfaces for final coatings.

• Inspect work for alignment, flatness, and defects; correct deficiencies prior to inspection.

Project Execution

• Interpret and follow plans, shop drawings, and specifications accurately.

• Coordinate daily tasks with the foreman, lead carpenters, and other trades.

• Maintain high productivity while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to company and OSHA safety procedures at all times.

• Use proper PPE and maintain a hazard-free work zone.

• Attend safety briefings and toolbox talks as required.

Communication

• Provide accurate updates on daily progress and material needs.

• Report issues affecting schedule, quality, or safety to supervisors.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial drywall hanging and finishing.

• Solid understanding of drywall materials, joint compounds, fasteners, and finishing techniques.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, details, and job specifications.

• Comfortable working at heights, on lifts/scaffolding, and in varied weather conditions.

• Experience working on large commercial, institutional, or multi-story projects.

• Knowledge of metal stud framing and quality wall layout methods.

• Prior experience coordinating with other trades and enhancing workflow.

• Continuous standing, bending, lifting and carrying up to moderate weights.

• Comfortable using hand and power tools on a daily basis.

• Ability to work extended hours when project schedules demand.
