About the Client

My client is a well-established specialist contractor operating within the interiors and construction sector, delivering drylining, ceilings, partitions and associated interior works across commercial, residential and public sector projects.

They have built a strong reputation in the region for consistent delivery, quality workmanship and long-standing relationships with main contractors and developers. The business benefits from a healthy pipeline of work and a stable, experienced leadership team.

Culturally, my client offers a supportive and practical working environment where Contracts Managers are trusted to run their projects with autonomy, while having access to solid commercial and operational support. As the company continues to grow, this role offers genuine scope for progression and the opportunity to play a key part in the ongoing development of the business.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead delivery of interior fit-out and drylining (and related) projects across our portfolio. You will be responsible for overseeing contract delivery from mobilisation to completion — ensuring projects are delivered safely, within budget, on programme and to the required quality standards. While specific drylining experience is advantageous, this role is open to candidates with broader construction or project/contract management experience.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be a key operational lead, liaising with clients, subcontractors, supply chain partners, and project teams

Contract & Project Delivery

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of contracts – from mobilisation through to delivery and close-out.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, to quality standards, on time and within budget.

  • Coordinate contract execution, variations, valuations, and interim/final account settlements.

  • Review and interpret contract documentation, scopes of work and commercial terms.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Maintain contract cost control and commercial performance reporting.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking through project lifecycles.

  • Report project performance and risks to senior management.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, main contractors, supply chain and internal teams.

  • Act as a main point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.

  • Collaborate across departments to support delivery and operational improvement.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including site managers and supervisors.

  • Support contract handover meetings, pre-start briefings and ongoing team communication.

About the Candidate

Essential

  • Proven experience in contract, project or construction management (sector experience can vary).

  • Strong organisational and planning ability — capable of managing multiple live contracts.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.

  • Commercial awareness with good financial understanding and budget control.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in drylining, fit-out, interior finishes or construction delivery environments — not essential .

  • Knowledge of standard industry contracts and project reporting tools (e.g., MS Project / Excel).

  • Health & Safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS/SSSTS) or willingness to attain them.
